MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD 

The Cypress Keyes Rule and Regulations state that "It shall be the responsibility of each lot owner to prevent the development of any unclean, unsightly or unkempt condition of buildings or grounds on any lot which shall tend to substantially decrease the beauty of the neighborhood as a whole or any specific area". That is pretty straightforward and most people do a very nice job taking care of their property. However, a couple of gently reminders have become necessary.

Children are a blessing. Yours, not always other people's. Think Dennis the Menace. This is not an Active Adult age restricted community (55 years and older). Young families are welcome and encouraged to participate in all that we have to offer. As always, parents are responsible for the actions of their children. If you are having a problem with children trespassing on your property, you need to have a conversation with their Mon and Dad. If that doesn't work, a good fence is always an option. Come on, don't yell at the kids - give them a hug and you will make a friend forever. 

 

Trash containers are required to be out of sight - either behind an ARB approved white vinyl enclosure or stored inside your garage so that it is not visible from the street. 

 

Garage doors should remain closed or screened when you are not present or actively working on "stuff". We are not a gated community so anyone can casually drive though the area. That includes well intentioned house hunters and evil-doing treasure hunters. There is no need to tempt anyone with your lawn mowers, power washers and valuable tools on display. 

 

Our new landscaping company, Pritchett Lawn Service, has been doing a great job sprucing up the common areas of our neighborhood, including new mulch, pine straw, decorative rock and trimming the shrubs along Tournament Boulevard. 

 

The pool repairs and resurfacing have been completed. The Clubhouse has been power washed. The outdoor furniture has been scrubbed and re-strapped. Yahoo! We are ready for summer and open for business. Remember the Golden Rule: No glass allowed in the pool area. The latest revisions to the pool rules are contained in this newsletter. 

 

All homes in our subdivision provide off street parking for 2 to 4 vehicles. If you have a temporary need for additional parking, please let a Board member know that you will be using the pool parking lot. Parking on the common area grass or on your front lawn is forbidden and just plain tacky. 

 

Speaking of grass - we seem to have a healthy crop growing on many driveways. Time for a sprits of Round Up. Let's try to keep the 'hood looking good. 

 

And, finally - signs. The only signs allowed are approved home For Sale signs. No "Yard Sale", "Vote For Joe", "Junk Cars Removed" or "We Buy Mobile Homes" signs. Again, tacky

Next Board meetings are scheduled for July 11 and October 10, 2018 at 6:00pm at the Cypress Keyes clubhouse. Anyone who would like to attend these meetings is welcome to observe.
